1 A Basic Computer-Digital Data Storage And Transmission Method(s) - also see the video notes!
jonsvids:
READ HERE: KCS program: (digital to audio, and back) ~dxforth/#kcs This is not a very new concept but one that is perhaps not known much today, but it can be very useful when you don't have internet and/or are living out in the winderness. It can also be fun for rescue people, or just to enhance your abilities. It can be used to transmit computer files over things like radio/shortwave, laser communication, and phone lines (with a simple, but proper isolation circuit with a transformer). The data is stored as a sound file and that is what is actually transmitted with the radio waves or with laser light There are several types of programs available today for free on the internet. Most are for "shortwave/Ham Radio" communication some are even for satellite signals such as weather maps, etc. Some are for transmitting only images, some for slow scan/simple television. This program in the video only uses the basic agreed upon standard form of storing compuer data to an audio form mainly for tape recorders, and it's a small, no frills/no clutter of a program (and you dont' need to know a thing about digital and program does that automatically for you). I think it's very good to begin with, to just get a basic feel of things. It's actually a (system) DOS program that I run using WindowsXP system, but that also allows you more control over the options by making simple "batch (.bat) files/programs if you want. Subscribe and message me and I will send you the free program link. To receive a radiowave with this type of data, you only need the radio receiver, and not the transmitter. You just have to find a good way (line in, mic) to get that sound into your computer soundcard or audio recorder for later processing. Even if you learned a bit about data sending and receiving then that is alot. I understand most people don't want to bother while we have good internet service to communicate with. Don't forget, you can make a "home network" easy if you have several computers, wireless included. Look it up, it's included with the Windows operating system, and you can transfer (send/receive) computer files from one computer to the other using direct connections or your broadband wireless connection. Before alot of these computer and shortwave data transmission stuff (RTTY Radio TeleType), there were other popular forms of data transmission such as Fax Machines (send images over the phone lines), and TTY (TeleTypewriter or "TeleTYpe") communicaion for people who can't hear enough, it's sort of like a text chat machine that you attach to your phoneline.
